Change in Space
|
As UNLV moves toward our goal of becoming a Premier Metropolitan Research University , the growth in faculty and the changes to academic facilities are occurring at a staggering pace. In response to this, a workflow integration effort to oversee renovations and relocations as well as coordinate all associated services has been created. |
In order to manage and facilitate these changes more effectively, the Office for Academic Resources has implemented a new workflow process for academic unit requests – all units that report to the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost – for changes in space allocation and usage. This process will affect all renovation and remodeling projects as well as any requests for changes in how space is allocated to departments. |
Academic and Research Space (ARS) will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the workflow integration effort. All project requests that will change the physical layout of space, the use of space or the departmental assignment of space and all requests for additional space must be submitted to ARS using the Academic Unit Request for Change in Space Allocation form. All requests that impact the assignment or usage of space will reviewed and then be sent to the Space Planning and Allocation Committee for final approval.

Please note that this form must be signed by the department chair and dean prior to submitting it to ARS – forms missing required signatures or pertinent information will be returned. Facilities will no longer be accepting direct requests for these services but the Customer Service Help Desk (895-4357) should still be contacted for normal maintenance and repair issues such as painting, window blinds, etc.
