UNLV faculty had the opportunity to further develop their academic assessment skills during this day-and-a-half academic assessment workshop at UNLV. Faculty attended several plenary sessions, and one of four workshop strands: 1. Refinement of Existing Assessment Tools; 2. Creation of Assessment Rubrics for Complex Projects; 3. Creation of Assessments for Courses with Multiple Sections; 4. Creation of Course Discussion Assessments.
Each participant worked on an assessment project during the workshop. Projects were related to the chosen strand, e.g. refinement of existing assessment tools, creation of a rubric for a complex project, creation of an assessment tool for a course with multiple sections, or development of course discussion assessment.
Final products will be submitted to the Director of Academic Assessment by June 23, 2008. It is understood that some of these products will subsequently need to be shared with, revised, and approved by program faculty before implementation. In those cases, the product to be submitted may be considered a refined draft.
