Dawn Neuman assumed the position of Vice Provost for Academic Resources on July 1, 2004. Prior to becoming Vice Provost for Academic Resources, Dr. Neuman served as the interim Vice Provost for Educational Outreach and Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences (now known as the School of Life Sciences).
Dr. Neuman received bachelors and masters degrees in Biology/Botany from California State University, Long Beach and a PhD in Forest Resources from the University of Washington (Seattle). She has been a member of the faculty at UNLV since August 1991. During that time she has received awards in both public outreach and human resources. Dr. Neuman also continues to present research findings at both national and international conferences and has published numerous papers in her specialization of plant environmental stress and integrating hormones. In addition, she maintains research interests in a variety of allied areas, including: integrated physical controls of plant responses to the environment, root physiology and transport.
